“We were very concerned that our
dad couldn’t cope with caring for
our mom. In a very real sense you
‘came to the rescue’ and made it
possible for the two of them to
stay together at home.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you serve?
We’re growing quickly, and opening locations throughout the United
States. Please enter your city and state or ZIP code in the search
box on the right-hand side of this page to see if we have a location
where you need services.
Who uses your services?
Our clients are people who need in-home assistance and/or companion services. These make it possible for your loved one to get the attention he or she needs, and in many cases to remain at home. Our solutions typically are more affordable than other types of long-term care, depending on your loved one’s needs.
Are your services available outside the home, such as in assisted
living centers?
Yes they are. Our caregivers can visit any type of facility to provide
services. This includes hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing
homes, long-term rehabilitation centers, and other locations.
How much does your service cost?
Most of our services are charged by the hour. The amount of time
needed to provide care for your loved one is determined during our
initial assessment interview. The time is reviewed regularly and
adjusted as needed. Please contact us for more information about
our pricing.
Does Medicare cover your services?
We regret to say that in most cases they do not. For services at
home, Medicare covers only acute skilled care, which usually occurs
following some type of hospitalization. When appropriate we can
work with your Medicare provider to make sure your loved one gets
care.
How do in-home care costs compare with those for assisted living
facilities or nursing homes?
In most cases our services cost less than either assisted living centers
or nursing homes. We customize a care plan so you pay only
for what you need.
What is "caregiver burnout"?
This is a type of exhaustion—be it physical, emotional, and/or
mental—that is sometimes accompanied by a change in attitude
from positive and caring to negative and unconcerned. Caregiver
burnout can occur when a caregiver (usually a family member)
doesn't get help with the tasks he or she must deal with, or if they
attempt to do more than they are capable of. “Burnout" symptoms
include stress, anxiety, depression, and fatigue.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Each of our locations operates according to prevailing laws
and regulations.
How do you choose and qualify your caregivers?
Each prospective caregiver undergoes a comprehensive interview
and background check. Please visit the “Our Caregivers” page to
learn more.
How long does it take to start receiving your services?
The answer depends in part on your availability for our initial
assessment. Generally you can begin receiving services within a
few days. Once we fully understand your needs, we can quickly
match them with one of our caregivers. Please see the “Our Process”
page to learn more.
What happens if my caregiver becomes ill or takes a vacation?
We have many excellent caregivers who are available to fill in on
short notice. In the case of vacations, we know about them well in
advance, so that is not an issue.
Is it possible for me to meet my caregiver in advance?
Certainly. One of the key values of our service is matching a caregiver
appropriately with the person to whom they will provide care.
We discuss this in detail during your initial interview so that we’re
prepared to select a good candidate. We’ve become very good at it.
Do the caregivers work for you, and how are they paid?
All caregivers are our employees. We bill you for the services they
render, and we handle their payment including taxes, insurance,
benefits, and other administrative requirements.
Why should I use your service instead of a competitor or an independent
care provider?
We believe there are many advantages to using us:
1. Quality of care and personnel.
Our caregivers work directly for us, which means they’ve been carefully
screened, and are bonded and insured. Thus you have no concern
about the type of person providing your care or about the possible
liability of having someone in your home—that responsibility rests with us.
2. Backup caregivers are always available.
You don’t have to worry about finding a replacement at the last
minute. If your caregiver is sick or has an emergency, we’ll send a
qualified caregiver to fill in for her or him.
3. We have a trained, professional staff.
In addition to the help you receive from your caregiver, our staff
members ensure that things run efficiently and professionally.
They’re available to address any of your concerns.
4. We monitor the relationship between you and your caregiver.
We develop a detailed care plan for your services. Our staff uses
this to make certain that we accomplish the care goals determined
during the initial assessment interview. A big part of this is regular
follow up with both you and your caregiver. |
