Our Caregivers are skilled, courteous & compassionate

When we hire caregivers, we look for people who are experienced, professional, enthusiastic, and compassionate. We’ve become good at telling whether they genuinely like their work. For each one, we perform a comprehensive screening, then we train, bond, and insure them. The final step is matching their experience, skills, and personality to your loved one’s needs. Often the result is that our clients say caregivers become friends and even “lifegivers.” Our caregivers are always:

  • Employed directly by us—we don’t use subcontractors
  • Licensed (where applicable), bonded, and insured
  • Checked for reliability, including criminal background
  • Supervised by our on-staff Registered Nurses

How do we find and assign good caregivers?

They come from a variety of backgrounds. Some have cared for their own parents and want to help others. Others have been professional healthcare workers and enjoy one-to-one contact. All of them deeply value the satisfaction that comes from helping people. We’ve developed compatibility systems and we take the time to match a caregiver appropriately with a loved one, to foster a mutually satisfying relationship.

We also offer specialized training to caregivers via our Senior Helpers University educational program.

“At first it felt a little selfish to have someone look after my wife, who can’t travel, so I could visit my daughter. But it has done us all some good. Our caregiver has been nothing less than wonderful.”
